Every Day Rate hairpin is made entirely in the USA, with a supply chain that's 100% domestic from raw material to finished pin. That wasn't the easy or the cheap way to build this brand. It was the only way I could actually control the quality of what we were making.
When I was still working as a stylist, I used a lot of imported hair accessories, and I saw the same problems repeatedly. Plastic tips that peeled after a few uses. Paint that chipped. Metal that bent or snapped under real, everyday tension. Those problems usually trace back to a supply chain nobody's watching closely, cutting costs at every step to hit a lower price point.
Building domestically meant I could be in the process. I could see the materials, understand exactly what was going into each pin, and hold every batch to the same standard. A hairpin looks simple from the outside, but the difference between one that holds for years and one that bends after a month comes down to decisions made well before it ever reaches you.
It also meant we could use better materials without compromising on where or how they were sourced. Our pins are built on an upcycled American stainless steel core, which is part of why they hold their shape and tension over repeated use instead of loosening or bending the way a lot of cheaper hairpins do.
I won't pretend domestic manufacturing is the cost-effective option. It isn't. But when the whole premise of the brand is hold that doesn't cost your hair anything, I wasn't willing to compromise on how the pin itself gets made. A hair pin you have to replace every few months isn't actually saving you money, and it isn't doing your hair any favors either.
